We are proud to announce the arrival of the long anticipated Tellma March 2021 update bringing an assembly of frequently requested features to Tellma ERP especially around business intelligence and localization. Below you will find the features that our amazing development team has been working on over the past few weeks.
Customizable Dashboards
Have you ever imagined sitting in your office surrounded by several wall-mounted monitors, through which you are able to oversee your entire operation in real-time? This is now possible with the new Tellma ERP dashboard definitions. This feature allows your power users to set up many KPIs and charts and arrange them on a 2-dimensional grid, aka a dashboard. The KPIs and chart sections can highlight in different colors to indicate a problem or a call for attention. The dashboard automatically refreshes every certain duration which can be configured as part of the dashboard definition.
Dashboards can be pinned on the main menu to appear only for specific users that need them, for example a dashboard that only appears to the CEO, vs another that only appears to the regional sales manager. The dashboard is of course responsive just like all Tellma ERP, it adapts to large monitors and to mobile phones so that dashboard consumers can stay on top of their business all the time.
Multi-Calendar Support
Tellma ERP users in certain countries must often deal with calendars other than Gregorian. For example, Saudi Arabia uses the Umm Al-Qura calendar, which is in the year 1442 right now, while Ethiopia uses the Ethiopian calendar which contains 13 months!
Tellma introduces the ability to view and input dates in calendars other than Gregorian. Every company on Tellma ERP can configure primary and secondary calendars where users in that company can switch between the two on the fly without refreshing or losing UI state, users can even opt to switch a specific date field to one calendar while keeping the rest of the UI displayed in the other calendar. The calendars currently supported are Gregorian, Umm Al-Qura and Ethiopian.
Custom Date and Time Formats
The Tellma team added this localization feature to cater to how different cultures view and input dates. For example, 2021-03-21 can be rewritten as 21 March 2021, 21-Mar-2021 or March 21, 2021. The challenge was to adapt the different date formats for data entry as well. Tellma can intelligently understand the input date in any language or calendar if the input adheres to the configured date format, it can even understand misspelled months using the Levenshtein string distance function.
In addition to date formats, Tellma ERP now also supports both 12- and 24-hour time formats.
