A Deep Dive into the Tellma Studio.

Explore the main components of the Tellma Studio, these components are the building blocks of Tellma's best ERP implementations. Every business or managerial screen such as inventory items or sales invoices was built using one of these components.

A resource in Tellma ERP is something of value to the enterprise during its day-to-day business, for example inventory items, or office equipment. A Resource Definition defines a master screen that can capture a certain type of resource that is relevant to the business. Different resource screens can capture different information, for example the screen for Assembled Vehicles can capture the colors of the vehicles. Every screen is protected with its own set of permissions.

A line in Tellma ERP is a collection of entries each debiting or crediting a certain account. A Line Definition models a certain type of financial transaction, such as a customer payment, by specifying which information must be captured from the business user, what accounting treatment should the event have, and what signatures must be collected to transition the line from one workflow state to another. Line Definitions make it possible for non-accountants to record events directly into the financial core of Tellma ERP with minimum to no intervention from finance personnel.

A document in Tellma ERP is a single financial event, such as an invoice, composed of a logical grouping of multiple lines. The document is always in the inbox of one user, and it can move from one user's inbox to another until it is closed. A Document Definition defines a transactional screen that can capture a certain type of documents, specifying which line definitions can be added in that document, the transactional screen appears familiar to the business user, as all the underlying framework is kept hidden away.

A report in Tellma ERP is a custom view of the data optionally based on parameters. A Report Definition defines where the report data comes from, whether the result is detailed or summarized, how the data is selected, filtered and arranged in the report, and what parameters the user can or should specify. Report definitions rely on a simple but expressive query expression language. The resulting report can be added to the main menu to be consumed by members of certain roles, embedded in the context of other screens, or pinned in dashboards. All reports are real time and support drill-through natively.

A dashboard in Tellma ERP is a collection of parameter-less reports arranged in a 2-dimensional grid and silently refreshing every configurable period. A Dashboard Definition defines which reports are displayed in the dashboard, how they are arranged and how frequently they are refreshed. Dashboards can be added to the main menu of Tellma ERP to be consumed by members of certain roles.

A Markup Template is a specification of a dynamically generated file of a textual markup language such as HTML using a special template expression language, the file is dynamically generated based on user data. Markup templates generate files from Tellma ERP that can be printed, emailed, exported to PDF, or simply previewed from the UI. Markup templates are used to create such documents as invoices, bank letters, employee pay slips or customized auditor reports with company branding on them.
